French Documents

Do your French documents require legalisation for another country? Vital Consular are on hand to help.

Attesting a document for any country can be difficult because of how the process can vary when attesting different types of documents for different countries. A French birth certificate being attested for the UAE won't have the same process as an Australian Degree Certificate being attested for Qatar, for example.

Vital Consular can take your French documents and legalise them for use for any country in the world. We can legalise any officially issued French Certificate if required, such as birth, marriage and death certificates, as well as educational documents. The general process for attesting a document from France is as below.

How It Works

To attest your French Documents, we will require both the original certificate and a copy of your passport.

  • Send us your documents or have them collected by our specially allocated couriers.
  • We'll have them sent safely to Paris, France where two things will happen:
  1. Your document will be sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the legalisation procedure will begin.
  2. Secondly, your document will be sent to the relevant Embassy in Paris, where a Certificate of Legalisation will be added to the front page.
  • Finally, your document will be  sent back to you (or anywhere else you might need), safe and sound.

This process may differ depending on the kind of document you're trying to attest. For example, birth/marriage/death certificates that need attesting must be no more than three months old, while educational documents must have a certified copy produced before they can be sent to be legalised. Certain documents may need to be sent to the Court of Appeal, rather than the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The document may also need translating and notarising before it is accepted in certain countries It may be that your document needs to be sent to whichever country it needs legalising for and attested at the relevant Foreign Affairs department as well. We may be able to offer this service at an extra charge. Please contact us with your requirements, and we'll work hard to find the best solution for you.
