Maximum Stay: 30 days The maximum stay refers to the total amount of time that you can remain in the country during a single visit. For longer stays, you would either need to consider a residents visa or leave and re-enter the country using a multiple visit visa.

Important Information

You do not need to apply for a visa before you travel to the Maldives on holiday. All tourists, of all nationalities, can receive a 30 day visa free of charge on arrival in the Maldives.

You must not undertake any work paid or unpaid or any business engagements while in the Maldives on a tourist visa. Visitors found to be employed, or found to have overstayed their visa, may be deported or fined.

Is this visa the right one for me?

This visa can be used for tourist travel to the Maldives only. Business activities are not allowed. Tourist activities include:

Sightseeing or Packpacking
Visiting Family or Friends
Unpaid Sports/Music/Dance Roles
Attending a Wedding or Funeral
Religious Purposes
Medical Treatments

A Single Entry Visa to the Maldives will allow entry to the country on one occasion for up to the maximum stay within the validity period. Re-entry is not allowed. If you need the ability to return to the country within the same validity period you should choose a different visa type.
