Don't get stung by overpromisesBelow you can find the current average processing times for UK-issued documents at a range of Embassies. You can use these to plan for your legalisation, and don't get caught out by dishonest companies promising unrealistic time frames. Please note: These are the processing times at Embassies alone. Legalisation often requires further steps, meaning that the overall time taken to legalise your documents is likely to be higher than the time-frames below.
Last updated: 24/09/2024 What are these processing times? As part of the document legalisation process, documents may need to be submitted to a country's embassy to be processed. The above table shows the current average processing times of UK-issued documents at a range of embassies. Vital Consular have no control over how long it takes an embassy to process a document, so it's important to take these times into consideration when placing your legalisation order. Be wary of dishonest companies There are some companies that claim to be able to legalise your documents in an impossibly short period of time. We deal with the embassies daily. The information in the table above is taken directly from our personal experience of dealing with them. Be wary of any company claiming to be able to legalise your documents in a significantly shorter time. Other circumstances may affect processing times Processing times may be affected by current events, celebrations and public holidays. Delays are likely during celebrations such as Christmas and Eid, for example. Processing times may also increase during particularly busy periods, but we keep our table up-to-date to make sure you can plan ahead and have your documents legalised in good time. If you require documents legalising that were issued outside of the UK, contact our team for an estimated processing time.
